🌟 About Myrtle
My name is Myrtle Ann Childress (née Pruitt) and I am a proud resident of Burnet, Texas, a community I have called home for over thirty-five years. I was born in Lampasas, raised right, and moved to Burnet after marrying Randy in 1981 at the First Baptist Church in front of God and approximately 140 guests.
I have always had a passion for business and technology. When the internet came along, I said to myself: Myrtle, this is your moment. And I was right. I got onto the internet in April of 2003 (Randy's nephew Kyle helped with the setup -- he is good with computers and moderately good with people) and within six months I had an idea for a search engine, a language model, and an email consulting service.
People ask me: Myrtle, how do you do it all? And I tell them I do not know but I am going to keep doing it.
When I am not innovating the technology sector, I enjoy casserole preparation, attending First Baptist, watching Wheel of Fortune, participating in the Burnet County Pie Contest (the judging has been consistently political and I will continue to raise this concern), and spending time with Randy on the lake when he lets me on the jet ski.

🛥️ About Randy
Randy Dale Childress is my husband of 23 years and a very good one at that, mostly. Randy spent 28 years in the insurance business — he sold home, auto, and life insurance throughout Burnet, Llano, and San Saba counties and was well-regarded by his clients, several of whom came to his retirement party.
Upon retiring in 2001, Randy purchased a small fleet of jet skis and launched Randy Childress Jet Ski Rentals on Lake Buchanan. I am very proud to report that this has been an enormous success. Randy is out there every weekend and some weekdays. He is happy, which is wonderful. I have suggested several times that we rebrand the business — possibly calling it "Myrtle Childress Enterprises: Watercraft Division" — and Randy has heard me out each time.

Randy is also my Chief Technical Advisor, a title I gave him last November. He does not know what it means but he has been very supportive. He read this page when I finished it and said "well okay Myrtle" which in 23 years of marriage I have learned is the highest possible compliment.
🏠 Life in Burnet, Texas
Burnet is the Bluebonnet Capital of Texas, and if that is not something to be proud of I do not know what is. We have lived at our current address on Lakeview Drive since 1994. We have two grown children -- Brenda, who lives in Round Rock and is a dental hygienist, and Kevin, who is "figuring things out" in Austin. We are proud of both of them.
Our neighborhood is lovely. Our neighbors the Garcias have a dog named Gary who I have been attempting to communicate with using dolphin click-based language. Results have been inconclusive but I have not given up.
💻 The Technology Journey
In 2003 I got on the internet and my life has not been the same since. I have since learned to send email (though I prefer to respond by mail in 5-7 business days for important correspondence), copy and paste, change font colors, and make this website. I am still learning about the "right click" and remain suspicious of it.
